Moroccan Jews in Social Media

Dafina.net, the Net for Moroccan Jews (available in English and other languages)

Since this website was created in the early 2000s, the amount of information on Jewish Morocco on the Internet has mushroomed. Now you can find news, analysis and discussion about Jewish Morocco and Moroccan Jews on many social media, including websites, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat and Tumblr. In addition, you can find journal articles in several sites, including Academia.org and Jstor.org.

Of particular importance is the creation of app-based communities of Moroccan Jews sharing a common interest, such as those interested or descending from Jews in individual Moroccan cities, towns or villages. Other communities bring together Moroccan Jewish diaspora living in certain countries, such Israel, France, Canada, and the US, as well as cities such as Ashdod, Marseille, Montreal, Los Angeles or Sao Paolo. Some focus on specific interests of Moroccan Jews, such as genealogy.

This section of “Visiting Jewish Morocco” provides you with entry points to finding your way through these websites, apps and communities. Note that some of them are not in English or restricted to Moroccan Jews.
