Passover Play of Students at Machar’s Jewish Cultural School

Many schools include a focus on the diversity of world cultures in their curriculum. Jewish schools, whether religious or secular, have a strong interest in teaching students about Jews in other countries. Students are particularly interested in learning about the lives and culture of the Jews of Morocco.

In response to requests by third and sixth grade teachers at the Jewish Cultural School of Machar, the Washington Congregation for Secular Humanistic Judaism, I have put together teachers’ guides on Moroccan Jews for each of these grades. They respond to the interest of the students at each of these grade levels and use age-appropriate language. I have included photographs to illustrate the themes. Teachers might also wish to show the students videos from other parts of this website.
